Designed for organizations that have limited in-house marketing resources and knowledge of marketing fundamentals, SMBmarketer.com offers tools and templates to give SMB principals or owners an initial starting point to learn more about basic marketing strategy, and to provide them with low-cost templates that will increase their business success.
Most online marketing resources are designed for marketing professionals in active practice in corporate or agency environments. These resources can be too overwhelming for the small business owner to digest, making it difficult to identify actionable steps to get started.
Passionate about their businesses, entrepreneurs hesitate to commit dollars to marketing without some ‘guarantee’ of success. They also feel they know their business best, and could funnel that knowledge into some basic programs if they had access to low cost, easy to use tools to execute them.
The goal of SMBmarketer.com is to provide simple marketing strategies and actionable tactics to small business owners and managers to help them get started.
Our mission is to teach SMB’s to walk before they run, by achieving some early campaign success, and proving the value of marketing to their business.
SMBmarketer.com was created by Susan K. Watkins, a seasoned technology marketing executive who was inspired to create an easy to use resource for “non-marketing” professionals - specifically small to medium businesses that were savvy entrepreneurs, but struggled to invest in marketing as a way to grow their companies.
Susan has spent the last 20+ years developing marketing strategies and campaigns, building marketing organizations, and generating momentum for high tech companies and products. Her industry experience includes construction and real estate, business and consumer software, wireless technology, software utilities and development tools, and small business software.
Throughout her career, Susan has served in a variety of executive marketing positions for several technology startup companies in the Sacramento, Calif. region, including ShareWave and Realty Plus Online. Originally from Silicon Valley, Susan worked for several technology companies including Symantec Corporation, Apple Computer, and Banner Blue Software.
